Sydney Dog & Cat Boarding – Terms & Conditions

By booking with Sydney Dog & Cat Boarding (SDCB), you agree to the following terms and conditions

Boarding Fees:

Boarding fees are calculated on a calendar day basis, regardless of the time of admission or departure. Rates may change during high-volume periods with a minimum of 7 days’ notice, regardless of deposit status.

Payment:

All charges must be paid in full prior to check-in. Please contact us at  1300 651 794 or pay online to complete your booking. Any additional services can be paid for at check-in.

Please refer to our booking policy (below) for full payment details.

Vaccination Requirements:

Pets must be up to date with vaccinations—C5 for dogs and F3 for cats. If vaccinations are not current, a fee of $200 for dogs and $190 for cats will be charged, which includes travel fees. We recommend vaccinations be administered at least two weeks before check-in.

Important:

SDCB is not responsible for any pet that falls ill or contracts kennel cough, regardless of vaccination status or timing. Please note that disease protection generally starts five days after vaccination, with full protection taking up to fourteen days.

Veterinary Treatment:

If your pet requires veterinary care while boarding, it will be attended to by a licensed veterinarian. All veterinary costs, including travel fees from $90 and any after-hours charges starting from $200, will be the responsibility of the pet owner.

Liability:

SDCB is not liable for any injury, illness, death, loss, or damage not directly caused by SDCB’s care, including unforeseen behavioural issues.

Unclaimed Pets:

Pets not claimed within 7 days of the scheduled departure date will be considered abandoned and handled at SDCB’s discretion. The outstanding account balance, including any additional handling fees, must be paid immediately. If the balance remains unpaid, legal action may be taken without further notice, and all associated costs will be the responsibility of the pet owner.

Booking Policy

For all peak period bookings (Christmas, Easter, school holidays, and public holidays), a 30% deposit of the total booking cost is required at the time of booking. The remaining balance must be paid in full within 24 hours to secure the booking.

For off-peak bookings, a $50 deposit per pet is required, with 50% of the total booking fee to be paid within 24 hours to secure the booking. The remaining balance is due upon guest arrival.

All deposit requirements come with a 24-hour cooling-off period, provided they fall outside of the non-refundable notice period—21 days for peak period bookings and 7 days for off-peak bookings. If cancelling your booking, they can be kept on your account as a credit provided the required notice is provided.

Bookings will be confirmed once the required payment has been received. If payment is not received within the specified timeframe, the booking will be forfeited. Payments can be made by credit card or direct debit.

Rates are subject to change from the advertised rate without notice, due to additional requirements, special requests, or rising costs. All prices and fees charged will be based on the rates current at the time of boarding, not at the time of booking inquiry or prior estimations provided.

Cancellation Policy

Please note that if a refund is applicable, cancellation charges will apply and are neither refundable nor transferable.

The cancellation fee is based on the amount of notice provided and whether the booking is during:

Off-peak times

Cancellation Administration Fee of $50 per pet per booking.

Written notice of cancellation provided at least 7 days before the guest’s check-in date will result in the deposit being kept as a credit on account, while the balance paid is refundable. If less than 7 days written notice is given, you will not be entitled to a refund, however a credit may be applied to your account.

Early Pickups – Low Season Only

Early pickups are welcome during low season — just let us know at least 48 hours in advance.

If 48 hours’ notice is given:

You’ll receive a credit for unused days, valid for 12 months. No refund will be issued.

If less than 48 hours’ notice is given:

2-day fee will be deducted from your credit.

Peak times

(from December 15 to the end of January, Easter period, other school holidays, and public holidays):

Cancellation Administration Fee of 30% of the total booking.

No refund will be issued under any circumstances if written notice of cancellation is not provided at least 21 days before the check-in date. If more than 21 days’ written notice is given, the 30% deposit portion will be kept as a credit on account and is non-refundable, while the balance payment is refundable. No exceptions or considerations will be made to these terms.

Deposits are only kept as a credit if the cancellation notice meets our required notice period for both peak (21 days or more notice) and off-peak times (7 days or more notice).

Refunds, if applicable, will be processed within 30 days of receiving written notice of cancellation.

All credits have a 12-month expiration date from the date of issue.

Early Departures

If guests depart earlier than the booked departure date, no credit will be issued, and the booking is non-refundable and non-transferable.

Authorisation for Emergency Care terms:

If your pet(s) being boarded by Sydney Dog & Cat Boarding (SDCB) becomes ill or injured and requires veterinary care, you authorise SDCB to transport your pet to a licensed veterinarian for treatment. You also authorise any necessary care and accept full financial responsibility for all costs incurred.

You acknowledge that you are wholly financially responsible for all care provided, including for any new or pre-existing conditions, whether or not you were previously aware of them. If SDCB is unable to reach you, you authorise the staff to make any emergency decisions deemed necessary for your pet’s wellbeing.

When booking with Sydney Dog & Cat Boarding, you agree to all our terms and conditions and booking terms, holding Sydney Dog & Cat Boarding harmless for any illness or death of your pet due to illness contracted during or after boarding, including kennel cough. If veterinary treatment is declined by the authorised person, SDCB reserves the right to request immediate collection of the animal by the responsible person.

Please review this information carefully, as your booking signifies agreement to these terms.
